I'm running Windows 2000, SP3. After installing the AC demo (which appeared to go fine) on launch I see a "Loading..." message, then I get "Error: Access violation at 0x00B330B3 (tried to write to 0x00F72000), program terminated."

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Charles

I assume that you have not entered a registration key.

I also assume that you do not get to the "Reminder Dialog Box".

You just see "loading" and then it bombs out.

Sorry for the problem..

My first suggestion is to download the zipped version of the installer and re-install. This will ensure that the installer was not damaged in any way during the download (that can happen based on the ISP or firewall issues).

Please report back after you try the zipped installer.

Tried that, have exactly the same result.

What next?

Thanks,

I have to do some research with one of our suppliers.

I will get back to you when I have consulted with them.

Sorry for the problem and delay and thanks for your patience.

Mike,

This is exactly the same error about which I wrote you yesterday. Thanks for your quick reply. I tried the MFC42 ahd REGSVR32 fixes without sucess.

For other readers: I am running Windows XP. I forgto to add that the program used to work perfectly but, I had not used it for several months...then, this error msg and shutdown.

You asked the other person with this problem whether they had a registered copy. I do not either. Would that make a difference? I would pay for the program but at this pt. am afraid that I would register and still have the same problem...

spencerhg,

Are you discussing YarcPlus or Archive Creator. This is the AC forum, but you speak of using the program for several months, and AC has not been out that long. So I am confused.

Oops! You are absolutely correct - I am in the wrong forum as I am writing about YarcPlus, not AC. Sorry about that - though it is odd that the same error msg. would happen?

To spencerhg...

Please confrim that you do not see the YarcPlus Splash Screen or the reminder Dialog Box. ....that you get the error right at startup before you see anything other than a "loding..." message, if that.

Also...Lets move this discussion over to the YarcPlus side. So please repond with a new message, there, that describes your current status.

Thanks..and sorry for the problem..

Michael, I seem to be having some trouble as well, and I have registered AC. For some reason, after probably a month of not using the software (maybe less), it has become unstable. When I first opened the program and tried to unselect a folder (which it let me do). WHen I then tried to select another folder, it hung for a while (brought my whole system to a crawl) and then gave me an access violation and quit on me.

I rebooted my machine (for good measure) and tried again. Same thing. The third time (without rebooting), I was able to unselect and then select the other folder, but I still have an hourglass mouse pointer, and it has been about 5 minutes.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill,

Sorry that you are having this problem. There are no know issues that correspond to what you are seeing.

We are about to release the official V1.1 release, probably tonight, so let's wait and install this new version. In our extensive beta testing it has proven to be quite reliable. There still may be something with your system that AC does not like, but let's completely uninstall the old version and work with the new V1.1.

I hope to post it later tonight.

Thanks for your patience and have a happy new year..
