Michael,
I thought you'd enjoy the following pictures. I also have a question. The first picture was white balanced in C1LE but I thought that it had a slight color tint. I adjusted it with levels in Photoshop and got the second picture. Any thoughts on why I got the tint even though I used the WhiteBal cards?

There are a few things that can comei nto play.
The light falling on the WhiBal could be different from the light coming into her face from the left.
The reality of the lighting may be properly displayed in the first but you do not like it.
The C1-LE profile could not be to your liking.
You have reduced the contrast in the newer picture, so maybe that is what is disturbing you.
In the end, all that WhiBal dna the C1 White Balance can do is to render neutral perfectly for the light falling on the WhiBal card. if thelight in other places is different, then of course it will be differemt. So WhiBal cannot produce perfect results, except to make "itself" perfectly neutral. Then the lighting, Profile, and taste come into play.
The Key thing with WhiBal is that it gives you a very perfect starting place. Without it you would not have a base to work from and that is tough stuff.
I hope that this is helpful..
