Hi Michael,
I just received my pocket whibal, and will be trying it out tonight.

I noticed on the black card there is a black sticker on one side. Should this area be used as a reference point?

Thanks,
Ben.

The sticker is part of the new BlackPoint Technology that has not yet been released on the Rawworkflow site yet. Not sure what it is myself either.

The BlackPoint(tm) techinology will be discussed shortly, but in practive it allows the darkest reference point to be captured. Darker than any other that I have tested. While it is gloassy and can have glare, the glare is easy to see and therefore avoid. When it is not in glare mode, it represents the deepest black that I have tested and so is the best BlackPoint Reference point that i have been able to produce. The WhiBal Black Card surface is also very good and better than most, but it can glare over a wider angle because (as most black point cards do) because of the matte or semi gloss finish. So the purpose of the sticker is to provide the deepest Black, with the WhiBal Black Reference (before the sticker, perhaps the best) provides a backup reference in a situation where you cannot avoid the glare on the sticker.

Hope that this helps.

Michael,
Any possibility of getting this Black sticker to afix to our Black cards? Those of us who have already purchased the WhitBal Sets (in my case I purchased BOTH sets when they were first offered), didn't have this option .
Thanks!

Yes, we will offer both the Blackpoint sticker and the new lanyard for just the cost of S & H ($5/US, $10/int). Watch for link in the next few days to get both.
