Hi ... I understand that cataloging will be in a future release, however, I decided to take advantage of a tool I already use in order to keep track of my archived pictures - ThumbsPlus. Here's what I do
First of all, in ThumbsPlus, I have a separate database called ARCHIVE - which is just for the images I have archived off using Archive Creator. On my Hard drive I created a high level directory called ARCHIVE. Underneath the ARCHIVE directory I create directories - one for each archive set (GRADUATION, SCANNED, etc). Then I take the first CD in each archive set and copy the thumbnail directory (TSOURCE_x) to the corresponding archive directory under ARCHIVE on the hard drive. Then I open ThumbsPlus and scan the directories I just created. (I have options set to creat keywords from the Words in the filename, and Words in the directory path). This way, I can do keyword searches and know which arhive set the pics that are found are on. (boy, sounds like I really botched this description!)....anyway - I use it for indexing/cataloging only, with keyword searches.
