The HTML images created by AC do not size to the defined sizes when it encounters TIFs that are from PS and a scanner. It only gives the thumbnail image. When I view the HTML page and click on the thumbnail, it displays the same thumbnail as the resized display image. I don't see any options that relate explicitly to TIFs. What's going on?

Also, AC will not write a volume set that is split across more than one volume. It will crash when I start the burn. I use Win2K SP2, Plexwriter 24/10/40x and a Yamaha CRW-F1. Both employ buffer underflow protection.

AC seems to work just fine on single CD's other than the above mentioned TIF problem.

I can give more specific info if I know what to supply.

I just tried a sample 2 CD session and everything worked fine with my Yamaha CRW-F1 burned.

Also, the TIF images that did not display properly in the HTML viewer may have been compressed TIFs.

Just a little more leg-work on my part solved all of my current issues.

I like AC all the more!! bring on version 1.0 !!

Regarding TIFs....

There are many flavors of TIF files (so much for industry standards). In fact the TIF format just defines a container, and you can really put anything that you want in it. This is what Canon has done with the 1D RAW "TIF".

So for purposes of this discussion, let's talk about 3 varieties of TIF files.

Standard TIF files...Should be no problem. You should get a thumbnial image as well as the viewing image size that you have set.

Compressed TIFs (LZW)...based on the Unisys patent, we are not able to read these files at all. So you will get only a file icon in the Index. Perhaps after a while and AC generates a nice cash flow, we will be able to pay the Unisys the license fee and handle LZW files, but it is too much of an investment at thisn point.

Canon 1D TIFs...not TIFs as we know them. There is a 288x192 pixel image thjat we can grab withot having to convert the file. So the thumbnail should be as you have set it, and the viewing image will be at the 299x192 max size.

In the future we may offer an upsample option to allow these images to be at the size that you have set for the viewing images. Of course there will be a slight time and quality penalty on each image, but I think that this is something that we will do.

In the official version, we will have a large preview window, so that you can see which images are able to go large and which are limited like the Canon 1D.

I hope that this explains the situation.

Thanks for your feedback and support..
