A new forum to talk about RAW in general, not converter specific, as stimulated by my seires of articles (1 published so far), on the Luminous-Landscape. My thanks to Michael Reichmann for publishing this article. I hope that it stimulates debate.

Sounds great Michael, but it looks like just you and I. Any update on the workflow dvd?

Thanks...I can wait. Michael, I shoot only RAW with an Oly E-1, when will the issues with the E-1 .orf files be worked out? I started with Olympus Studio, but it was so painfully sloooow that I switched to C-1 Pro. I was happy with C-1 until the funny patterns started showing up. I am now using ACR until C-1 is fixed.

Yes, the E-1 continues to be optimized. Remember that we do not get ANY help from Olympus.

Thanks Michael. Too bad that Olympus isn't more helpful. Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help get C-1 better optimized for the E-1.

Scott

just a quick question, when using se and sending the results to photoshop cs, should the camera raw plug in be deleted from photoshop? I'm worried that the plug in will add to or multiply color corrections already completed in capture one.
Thanks'

There is no issue. PS will see the "sent" file as a standard TIF or JPEG and not envoke ACR.

Hi Michael,
DNG is now supported by Pyxmantec and Adobe CS2, but still nothing from Phase One. The original announcement that Phase One was going to support DNG came out a year ago with your name at the top - any idea why they have not delivered on their promise?

Hi Huw,
When I spearheaded the DNG support policy for Phase One, we internally agreed, and publically annouced DNG "support" (does not imply complete support) within 2005. I am no longer associated with Phase One (I now work for RawShooter), so I cannot comment on the status or reasons about DNG within Phase One. I would suggest that you ask on their support forum at www.phaseone.com.
Sorry I cannot be of more help to your question.
