View Full Version : JPEG 2000 problem << Fixed in V1.1.1 >>

Archive Creator v1.1 now recognizes and builds indices for JPEG 2000 photos (yeah!). However, it fails pretty badly on JPEG 2000 16bit images -- getting colors totally wrong, missing parts of the image, etc.

FYI, it also seems to take forever to process a JP2 file (~10-20 seconds per file to build the index images) -- but maybe this is normal due to the complexity of JP2.

Any ideas? Michael, I can send you some JP2 16bit files if you need them for testing (I use LuraTech's Photoshop plug-in to generate them).

In my case I archive all my D30/D60 raw files in JP2 16bit to have a "standard" format that will be readable for a long time in the future (hopefully) -- so broken JP2 support is a real problem (I'd rather have it just not generate index thumbnails for these images than get the images messed up).

Thanks.

Sorry that you have had the problem.

I only have 1 sample file so a bunch of samples would be great. My email can accept files up to 10 meg, or I can email you anftp address.

Please either send the files here, or email me for the ftp.

As a workaround for now, you can filter the JP2 files just from the index (so that they are still int he archive) using the new index filter.

Thanks for your feedback and report..(and for the test images).

This patch optimizes the handling of JPEG2000 files.

Please download, unzip, and copy the DLL to the AC folder.

This patch also supports Nikon D100 NEF images shot with firmware V1.1.
