Hi,

I just purchased your product and used it to backup about 15 gigabytes of photos and it worked extremely well. I do have a few suggestions (of course):

Automatically Disable Auto Play/Notification When Archive Creator Is Running - Every time I insert a new CD (Windows XP) it brings up a screen asking if I want to open the CD. I have used other CDROM software which disables these screens (only while the software is running).

Option to Skip Thumbs.db - A built in option to automatically skip backing up Windows XP Thumbnail (thumbs.db) files.

Separate Button/Option to Estimate the Number of Discs/Index Size (right now it seems you must cancel processing if you decide you want to change Index size).

Best Index Option - Option to make the best possible quality index either by using an entire CD or space remaining on existing CDs.

Groundhog,

I am pleased that AC has worked well for you. I will address each point.

1 - Auto Play - We attempt to block the Widnows messages, but this is not successul in all cases. We have not gone the route of chaning the registry entries as we do not like to do this from a philosophical point of view. But we will look into optimizing this area. Your point is well taken..

2 - There are 2 file filters, one for the Archive (and index) and one for the index only. So you can filter the .db files there, but we will consider your idea for a preference/option so that yo do not have to do this using the filters.

3 - We do plan an estimate button. I am not sure if it will just tell you the size of the files that you have selected, or go through the process of estimaing the # of CDs with index. But we will add "file size selected" button that gives you some useful information.

4 - This could happen on the Process page and would be an interative process, as the compression is based on image content and it would be hard to target the precise number without running it through ALL the images. So this might take several passes of image processing. I do not think that there is any way around this and I do not think that people would want to have the images processed 2-4 times. Also, it could only be for when the index is on 1 disc, as there would be varying space available on each disk and it would get VERY complicated to track this. So I think that while a great idea (I like it!), I think that it may prove logistically impractical...but we will think on it...

Thanks so much for your feedback..
