Michael,

This is the first time that I have tried using Archive Creator. At the end of the Process section the system gave me the following error: "Index Creation Failed!!". I am running on WIndows XP Professional and tried to archive several folders (total of 15 disks according to the system) and put the index on the first disk.
What should I do?

Thanks. Elazar

elazar,

There is nothing that you have described that is out of the ordinary (except the error). Perhaps there is a file that is corrupt, or some kind of system file thatwe are falling over.

My suggestion is that you un-select half of the folders and see if it processes the entire set. If it does, then switch to the other half and see if it fails. In other words let's try to isolate this to a specific folder and then maybe specific file.

The problem may be elsewhere, but I think that this is the best place to start.

While we suggest smaller Archive sets, many people have crerated sets of over 100 discs, so it is not that the program has an aribtrary limit on the size of the archive (except that the Index cannot be larger than a disc.

I hope that this is helpful.

Sorry that you are having this problem..

Michael,

OK, I'll try and let you know the results. By the way, since I hav eboth Yarcplus and Archive Creator, does it matter where the Canon SDK files are? Should they be installed in both directories?

Thanks. Elazar

Yes, it is essential that the Canon SDK files be installed in both folders. In fact they are different sets of files. In YarcPlus we use a special collection of SDK files that is different from the standard SDK 5.0 issued by Canon.

So make sure that the YP files are installed by the YarcPlus installer and that the AC SDK files are installed by the AC SDK installer.

Thanks..

Thanks - that might solve the problem. I'll do that later tonight.

Michael,

Installking the SDK in the Archive Creator directory solved the problem :)

Thanks. Elazar
