on tuesday my i1 and whibal was at my door when i got off of work. YEAH.
have not had time yet to calibrate or play.
was sitting here after work today and a thought went through my mind when i was thinking about the guy with the other question. his was something about inconsistant results. he would see 1-200 degrees kelvin variation depending on where he read on the whibal card in the pic.
my question is similar.
when i take whibal readings do i have to be using the same camera settings as the shots will be taken in? such as f4/1/320sec/iso100...or does that matter if all shots and whibal shot is taken with the same settings?
i have a friend buggin me about how this works now. so i have to get to takin some pics so i can share the results with him. he said if he is sold on it he will be ordering as well.
thanx

Monty,
The only thing that needs to be the same in the WhiBal sot and the regular shots is that the light falling on the WhiBal is the same as the light falling on your subjects. That's it. And make sure that there are no gross reflections off of the Whibal by looking at the sticker in the viewfinder. That will tell you if there are reflections (handy, huh? and you thought it was just a logo:>)

Michael,
I thank you for your timely responses to my questions. even though they might be a little lame, my questions.
i think i remember you talking about the reflections off of the sticker in the videos on the site. i think.
i bet i watched them twice before i got to serious about making the purchase. then i asked some questions and well tonight i am going to play with it.
mayb some of the questions we ask here can be incorporated into your videos?

good to see great minds still think alike. ;o)
since i did not see a manual come with the whibal i relied alot on what i viewed in the videos online to know how to do things. not that it is dificult to operate and all, but the reflections from the sticker is not exactly something we would be aware of without it being mentioned. at least i would not have given it any thought. even less since i use a polarizer on occasion.
will the polarizer block the reflection?
not gonna tell you anything new here, but polarizers can help shots immensely.
so i am off with camera in hand, whibal around my neck and see what i can come up with...

Enjoy...It is in the video section of latest news.
When I shoot, I have been taught and now I have learned, that even if "i do not come out with good pictures" ones learns from the bad ones and it is still enjoyable way to spend time. If we want to get really good we should all be shooting every day just like a musician practices every day. A musician practices scales (not great music), so we can practice on mundane subject 9not great photographs). Some words of wisdom that have been passed to me from my teacher.
