Hi, I have a WhiBal and enjoy it very much. My question is, "Under what conditions does one use the black color and the darker gray color"? Thanks for all of your help. Kindest regards, JimTalbot

Jim,
The Dark card is used when you have shot in direct JPEG mode and need to color balance those files. Same process. Go to curves in PS (or other editor), use middle eyedropper, click on WhiBal shot. Save curve, and apply to other images (but one by one or via action).
Black and White points cam be set with the WhiBal Black and White areas if desired. Also use Black and White during capture as an exposure guide. Shoot WhiBal close up at subject position and make sure that Black and White "spikes" on the camera histogram fall completely within the histogram.
