I had the trial installed for a while, and I did not notice this problem before I entered the code.
The splash screen is on the screen for
3:35 before the program comes up.
I tried deleting the xml files, it makes no differance. I uninstalled and reinstalled, that made no differance.
I am using XP Pro, on a 1.66 PIII, with a gig of ram.

Please check to see if the skip Network drives and Skip CD rom drives options are checked. If you do not skip these (if they are not checked), it may contribute to the long load time.

These options are checked

I assume version V1.1.1.
While it should have nothing to do with this aspect, we should try running without the key installed.
You must install V1.1.1a for this test.
Run V1.1.1a and then remove the key using the option in the Help menu. Restart AC and see if the load time changes (I would suspect that it would not).
Re-enter your key.
Note: You have to use V1.1.1a because V1.1.1 demo mode has expired on 1 Feb. V1.1.1a is identical except for the expiration is 1 June. With the key entered there is no expiration.

I tried that.
I downloaded 1.1.1a this morning.
I forgot to mention also, there are 5 partitions on 2 hard drives on my system.

The 5 partitions should have no effect.
Are you sure that this delay did not happen before the key was entered, or is that a guess? Just for background info..
Really do not have a clue right now. Let us think about this.
Sorry for the inconvenience..

I tried the trial a few times with no delay noticed.
Last night I purchased the program, and installed the code in the expired 1.1.1, this was the first time I noticed the delay.
I went to see if there was an update, and there was, so I uninstalled 1.1.1, deleted the old directorys and files, and reinstalled 1.1.1a.

The only difference in the V1.1.1a version is in the "installer".
I do not mean to pin you down but when you say no delay noticed, do you mean that for sure (100%) there was no delay. I am asking so we know where to take our best shot.
And you tried the V1.1.1a with no key (running in demo mode) and there WAS a delay. Yes?
So what you are saying that that the only time there was NO delay was running V1.1.1 (no "a") in demo mode. Yes??
Thanks for your help..
