Other backup media

Michael,

I have tried the eval version today and like it very much. It is very simple, hence very slick in it's operation.

I do however have one query. Will future versions support magnetic backup media ?

I have about 24Gb of images which have accumulated over the last few months and use a removable Hard disk mounted in a single caddy as a backup.

At the moment I can just drag the whole directory onto this backup drive, but soon I will need to purchase a further drive to accomodate my expanding collection which is where keeping track of what files are on which backup disk will become a nightmare.

Basically I would like to be able to use Archive Creator as a front end to my HD Caddy system.

Any chance ?

Thanks for your kind note..

We do plan to address HDs in the future. In the short term (hopefully in the V2.0 version coming shortly) we plan to offer the ability to make an Index from a media of any size. So while you will have to copy to your HD as you do now, AC can then scan your HD and make a complete index from it, and you can place this Index on the backup HD, the source HD or both, for your reference..
