When estimating the number of CDs I need using AC ver 2 beta I get an error message that the index is too large for the target media capacity and I should turn off indexing or change indexing options. I didn't get any problems with ver 1 and I don't want to do without indexing.

Hi,
Here are a few questions to help isolate the problem you are having.
1-What size does Archive Creator say the index is estimated to be?
2-What size and type of media do you have selected?
3-Is this a registered copy or is it running in demo mode?
Thanks

1. No details are presented . Just the error box. However, if I go back and reset the media type to 'DVD 4.3GB' the estimate completes and indicates an index of 760.7 MB
2. 80 minute CD.
3. Registered.

It seems that you have selected a large number of files, such that when indexed, the Index itself is 767 mbs. An index this large will not fit on a CD.
You should try to select less files and perform the archive multiple times, each time selected a different subset. Or, if you have a DVD drive you could archive to the DVD.
If you still wish to archive the entire set I would suggest the following....
1-Select the option to "Include Archive On First Disk" this way the first disk will contain the archive and all other disk will have only data.
2-Turn off the Viewing images, this will drastically reduce the size of the archive.
3-If you still want viewing images, you will have to reduce the size and quality of them untill the archive fits on one CD.
