Hi,
I have JPEG's stored on several CD's that I'd like to archive using Archive Creator. I can process the JPEG's on one CD but when I put in the next, I have to refresh the tree for them to appear and it overwrites the previous.
Is there a way to do this, create a single archive when you have pictures stored on multiple CD's or do you have to first copy everything to your hard drive(I hope not)?

Sorry, but there is no simple way to create a single Archive Set from multiple CDs without first copying them to a HD.
If the CDs were made using Archive Creator, their Indexs can be added to our new Master Index system, using the new Master Index feature in V2.0.

OK, I created a folder in My Documents and copied all of my photos that I had stored on CD's there. I then used that folder to make an archive. It took 5 CD's.
Once I created the archive, I deleted the picture folder from My Documents. Now, a question...
How do I continue with the archive to create more CD's? Can this be done? I don't understand the Master List stuff. Should I have created/saved a master list from the picture folder before I deleted it?
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I now have an archive spanning 5 disks. I want to add more pictures(disk 6). How do I do it? I would hate to have to start from scratch and create a new archive set.
Can you please explain the process in plain english?
Thanks for your help.

It is not possible to add to disc #6. This is because having an "open" disc is not as secure as we like, so we close all discs so that all archives are as robust as they can be. What you are describing is Multi-Session, which we do not support beause it is not secure until the disc is closed, and then the disc is still not as robust as a disc that is written and closed at-once.
When you wrote the 5-disc archive I assume that you have put an Index on one or all of the discs. When your burned the discs you could have used the "Add to Master Index" button on the burn screen. This would copy that same Index that is on the CDs into a folder that you set up in the preferences. (If you did not do this you can copy the Index from the CD itself using the Add To Master Index button on the Verify page. This copies the Index from the CD into the Master Index folder).
The next time you burn an archive set, you can copy the index to the Master Index and then you will have a top level index file (you can access this from the file menu) that shows both archoves that you have written. So in this way you have an index of all the archives that you have created in AC in 1 Master Index HTML page.
I hope that this helps your understanding. We will be updating the help file shortly to include the details of the Master Index Function.
