LR mouse problem?

I am haveing problems with two PC mouse functions. Do I need to
change a setting someplace?

1) Manual Sorting in grid view. When I click on a photo, in an effort to
move it, I get a very small rectangle instead of a thumbnail, I can move
this rectangle, but nothing happens when I let go of it.

2) Using the Red Eye Tool. I must try several times (more than 20)
before I get a selection box to appear. Furthermore, sometimes the "Pupil Size" and
the "Darkness" are enabled, but not always. So far, its been easier to just
jump to the PSE Editor, fix the red eye, and return.

This is starting to look like a problem with a windows setting. What do
you think?

I believe that the issue with #1 is that yoiu must be at a low level folder, and not a parent folder.

#2 - I have not used the red-eye tool, so I cannot comment.. Sorry..

I solved problem #2 (red-eye). i wasn't making a bid enough box.
You need to male box big enough to include most of the eye, not
just the iris.

I'm still working with sorting with no luck. First I make a collection,
or pass a few photos through a "Flag" filter. Then, acording to everything
I read, I should be able to arrange the sorted photos, by drag and drop.
It just doesn't work for me.

Of course when I tried, I thinkl a few of the sorted photos were from
different folders. I'll try what you selected.

Mouse problem (1) is solved. You were absolutely correct about the
parent folder.
