Hi,

I'm trying to import a JPEG file result of the merge of several RAWs. Total size is 13.2Mo and LR won't import it !! It gives a message saying that the file is too large !

Any clue ?

Thanks

The important thing to know is not the file size of the JPEG (which will vary by quality settings, and image content), but the pixel Dimensions. Having said that I cannot find the max size that LR will allow. But if you tell me the pixel size of your image at least I can test an image with that size. Thanks..

Ok, that makes sense.

So my file is 10551 x 3205 pixels.

10,000 px in any dmension.

Many, many users [incl. this one] have complained over that very misery size limt, since panoramas are back in fashion. Even relatively small stitches cannot be imported into LR; I have put together two scanned photos to create a full view of a clearance, nothing spectacular. Unfortunately the original scans had been done at highest resolution, making the stitched image - with more than 60% overlap - too big for LR.

On another note, not related to LR but to the size of JPEGs: While the file size on HD may vary, the size in memory will always come out to the same as the TIFF you created the JPEG from [give or take], since the file gets expanded.
