I know you have had a lot more experience than me in handling and using DVD blank media. Perhaps you can help me.
I've had some instances where for one reason or another I want to re-format or erase DVD+RW and/or DVD-RW discs. It seems that when I use the format function in My Computer, the disc gets "stuck", the light keeps blinking, and sometimes it eventually stops and sometimes I have to re-start the computer to halt this. I have no positive assurance that the disc has been re-formatted.
I've been trying a quick format, a full format, and using Roxio V.6, an erase function.
Later when I try to use these discs, whatever software program I am using tells me that the disc isn't empty. This is even though I thought they had been re-formatted.
Is there some way to format the disc more aggressively than what I am doing?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
