My w98 system which has a functioning NEC DVD writer and a Philips CD RW device, only recognizes an older CD dirive on my SCSI chain. Do I need new drivers? This is a fairly new W98 2nd edition system with all updates applied. I get no options for other output devices after processing files, except the old CD device.

It could be that you need new drivers, or that your ASPI files are outdated or out of sync. Please see this thread to get the utility that checks the version and status of your ASPI files as described in the thread....

If they are not the latest, then you should update them as described.

I guess I didn't make my problem clear. The devices I'm hoping to use are not on the SCSI chain. They are functioning IDE devices which work fine with other programs and even the older version of AC. They just don't appear in Ver 2 Beta.

Thanks

Yes...It still could be the ASPI issue. Just try the utility to make sure that the ASPI files are up to date and all installed.

V2.0 uses a new burn library, and there could be a difference in the ASPI files that it requires. If the utility shows that the proer ASPi files are installed, then we can look somewhere else.

When drives do not appear, it is can be a symptom of incomplete or outdated ASPI files.

Loaded newest ASPI code still no drive recognized. Just used EZCDcreator 5 to write a DVD-R so drive is working
Any other suggestions?

Thanks

We are somewhat at a loss. It could be some interaction from the SCSI bus or something else within your system. If you would send us a "snapshot" of your system, we can try to see if something jumps out as a potential cause.

You can use the free download here to take the snapshot of your system..

Please check the report so that you are comfortable sendig us your system details.

Please send to ACSupport@pictureflow.com
