View Full Version : Missing thumbnails

I just registered AC and am trying to make my first real archive. It is a large folder containing many subfolders and image types are JPG, TIF and Canon RAW files. I have noticed that some of the RAW files (both D30 and D60) are not having their thumbnails created. At first I thought it may have been a corrupt file, but I am able to open up the RAW file in my file conversion software just fine.

Here is a link to a capture of a bad HTML Page.

Any idea what might be happening??

Otherwise-Great Program.

If you reprocess the same File Selection Set, do the images that are missing then get created?

You can check using the View HTML Index Feature. The processing will happen quickly becuase all other existing image files will be reused (thumbs and viewing images).

I am trying to see if it is specific files, or just some files at random.

If the same files do not produce thumbs and viewing images, then can you try a File Selection Set with just those files selected and see if they work then.

Also...if you click on them in the File Selection Tree, do you get the Preview image?

Thanks. The above information will help us to determine where the problem lies..

I reoriocessed the files and the same ones are still missing. I checked in the File Selection Tree the preview is not generated. So it looks like there is something strange with some of my files.

That could be the case. We use the embedded JPEG inside the RAW CRW file, so the actual RAW image can be fine and able to be converted, but perhaps something has corrupted the embedded JPEG. If you would like to send me one of the files I can take a quick look at it, although it is unlikely that I will be able to determine anything, except to try it with a bunch of other software.

If you like send one to ACSupport@pictureflow.com
