Does someone have a way of how to deal with external hard drives and the problem when they get different drive letter sometimes when you boot your PC? The problem is that Lightroom shows the images on those drives in red, since it can't find them...
I don't want to locate all images when I start Lightroom.
I know that you can change the drive letter in Windows, but I don't want to do that every time I start Lightroom/computer. The problem is also that the card reader that is built in in my PC sometimes have got the drive letter that my harddrives had when the images where imported, so I can't change it to what I want anyway.
Any idea someone?

If you use Disk Management in the Computer Management area you can permanently allocate a drive letter to your external drive/s, especially if you choose a letter outside of those normally allocated on start-up. i.e. if you use Y: and Z: if you, say, have two external drives as they are well away from the ones automatically allocated to other devices E: F: G: etc.

I would think that you would need to reimport your photos from the new drive letter but at least from now on your external drive/s will be have a fixed drive letter.

Any help? Maybe others have a better suggestion?

I guess the above post answers the question then.
