View Full Version : Deleting files?

Is there a way to tell AC to delete the source files once it has archived them (after Verify)? I searched everywhere, but couldn't find such an option.

After scouring my hard drive, selecting directories and files here and there for archiving, I'd hate to have to do that again within Windows Explorer to then delete the ones I've archived.

That is, is there a "move" option as well as a "copy" option?

Thanks.

At this point there is no option for delete or move. It is something that has been considered. I dont think it would be an automatic delete/move after verify, but if we did something like that it would be a separate process...ie after you delete and verify, you can initiate a delete/move function yourself. The automatic issue is a bit to risky.

Thanks... I agree that the automatic delete is too risky. The separate initiation of the delete is the way to go.

How are others dealing with the lack of this feature? Do you manually delete the files in Windows Explorer as I described, or is there a better/easier way?

I imagine that once I clear my hard disk of image files here and there and get into more of a workflow with AC, I'd be able to delete directories entirely in a single swipe.
