View Full Version : Version 2 slow/intermittant write

I used version 1 since it first came out, mostly with success. On my toshiba laptop, all was flawless. On my sony Vaio, the CD door sometimes fails to open. I have to use computer management to open it and then all is well for a while.
Version 2 is a bit more confusing. Whether I ask for thumbnails or not, the drive write light comes on during the write process only a few seconds of 10 or so. Needless to say, the write is unacceptably slow.
For now, I've gone back to version 1 and all is ok.

Sorry to hear of the problem.

Does version 2 have problems on both machines?
What OS are you running?

Also, please try to uncheck the high burn priority preference.

Thanks..

Michael,

Just noticed this on my Compaq Evo N800c with a DVD/CDRW drive, burning cdroms. Previous versions seemed fine, but now, some CDs in an archive set just hang, without even getting through the first step, others, get into the burning stage, and hang, or go very slow/stop for several minutes, and then start up (sometimes). I trashed about 5 CDs last night trying to get through an archive of 7cds.

Compaq EVO N800c DVD/CRDW HL-DT-ST-RW/DVD GCC-424-N
24x , 16x, etc

Burnproof was on. Once i tried with hard disk caching on, another time with it off.

Running Window XP Pro.

You did not mension if you tried the ASPI option and the burn priority (off). Also please try to increase the media wait time to 30 seconds as a test.

Michael,
I installed the ASPI drivers and got a message that they were up to date. Then I tried running AC and got the "no compatible burners" message.
I unchecked the ASPI drivers, checked the DVD high compatabiltiy mode, and then unchecked the high priority mode. Still no difference.
Below is my system information.

Dave,

Send an email to me at ac@fsdi.biz and I will email you a new version of the burning control to test. It might resolve your issues.
