MA on a Macro lens

Does it make sense to use lens align on a Macro lens.

I just got a 100mm f2.8.

I can see how you could easily do a calibration like its a 100mm regular lens But can you do a MA for distances that are really close.

Since you will be shooting the Macro lens very close, you should test and adjust very close to the distance that you will be shooting at. Use the Bottom right "E" alignment hole which is designed for close usage. There will be a limit as to how close you can get and still have the center focus spot on the E site and have enough of the ruler framed. Of course the most accurate macro focus can be achieved using manual focus and Live View.
